I was born and raised in Kwara State, Nigeria, in a town where almost everybody around me was Muslim. Growing up, Islam felt like a normal part of everyday life to me. I wore hijab from a young age and never liked exposing myself, but if I am being honest, I did not fully understand the beauty and depth of modesty at that time.
